R. Michael Meneghini, MD
Board-Certified and Fellowship-Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Meneghini is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who is a leading national expert in total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, outpatient joint replacement and computer-assisted surgical techniques. After over a decade at IU Health, Dr. Meneghini has founded the Indiana Joint Replacement Institute (IJRI), an innovative orthopaedic group serving patients throughout the state of Indiana.
Dr. Meneghini is a native Hoosier who obtained an engineering degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago followed by a complex hip and knee replacement fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where Dr. Meneghini was recognized with the prestigious Mark Coventry award for being the outstanding fellow in Hip and Knee Replacement.
Dr. Meneghini has a special interest in clinical and biomechanical orthopedic research. He is the author of over 160 scientific articles on hip and knee replacement, is an invited faculty on numerous national and international educational courses. Dr. Meneghini resides on the Board of Directors of the prestigious Hip and Knee Societies and is in the Presidential line of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He is on the Executive Boards of AAHKS, Mid-American Orthopaedic Association (MAOA) and the International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR).
Dr. Meneghini has won numerous additional awards and was most recently named in the “Top 22 Knee Surgeons in North America” by Orthopedics This Week and Dr. Meneghini was awarded the Early Career Achievement Award from Indiana University School of Medicine in recognition of distinguished early career achievement in the medical profession. Dr. Meneghini was honored with a Career Achievement Award in 2015 by his engineering undergraduate alma mater, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
